Beaumont's Book Week was celebrated by the SKG kids on a virtual platform with zeal and zest.
During Book week children celebrated 'International Literacy Day' and learnt the significance and importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies, and the need for intensified efforts towards more literate societies. DEAR -Drop Everything And Read activity had an interesting journey throughout the week wherein kids imbibed the value of reading and silently read on their own. Children are also enhancing their reading skills by reading Decodable books phonetically through book reading activities. In the session about The Elements of a Story, kids expressed themselves creatively through the story map activity.
Kids were overjoyed with the Pyjama Party, children dressed up in their nightdress, they danced to pyjama songs after that they happily listened to a bedtime story, and wished everyone “Good Night Sleep Tight”, further they cuddled their soft toys and pretended to be asleep.
The storytelling session by scholastic was an amazing activity conducted by Ms Renu Chamarty. It was a captivating session where children asked various questions related to the story.
During the High-tea session, kids made Edible Faces and relished their food.
Children enthusiastically participated in the virtual Character Parade – Kids dressed up as their favourite book character and spoke a few lines about that character.
Students made beautiful bookmarks for their books in the craft session.
Book Week has been loaded with fun and enthusiasm along with an overwhelming response from kids and Parents.
