We celebrate many International festivals and especially so when we have students as nationals from different countries.
Beethoven Festival, a Music Festival was celebrated on 20th Aug 2021 with the Junior Kg Roses. A small video about Ludwig Van Beethoven and his musical compositions was shared with the students.
Govind, a German citizen, shared with us his memories about Germany and the city that he was born in. He also tried to play Happy Birthday on the Keyboard, a musical instrument. Other students too showed the musical instruments they have at home. Many tried playing the instrument and stated that they wished to learn /planned to begin learning to play a musical instrument. Guitars, Keyboards, Xylophones, Drums, Manjeeras (small hand cymbals) and tambourines were favourites with the students.
Students coloured the flag of Germany.
All in all it was music to our Ears!! Well Done, Roses!!
Students viewed the map and location of the United States of America along with the 50 states. Riaan, who is a U S national, shared with the class that he was born there and hence he is a citizen of the USA. He also mentioned in which state he was born and shared a few memories of the country he resided in. He shared his experience of Easter and Halloween celebrations too and showed us the pictures of the celebrations.
Students coloured the flag of the USA. We made a Pancake for High Tea and students got the pancake made at home and decorated the pancake with honey, Nutella, cashews and bananas. The Pancakes were a big hit with the kids and they enjoyed the High Tea thoroughly.
We really enjoyed learning about festivals from the above countries and had great fun with the related engaging activities.
