Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October every year to mark the birth anniversary of
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was famously known as Mahatma Gandhi. The Father
of the Nation, Bapu as he was fondly called, led India’s freedom movement along with many
other national leaders against the British rule in India. 2nd October is celebrated every year
as a national holiday. The day is also celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence by
the United Nations.
Students of Toddler and Nursery were happy to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, the birth
anniversary of the Father of the nation. They all were excited to watch a short video story of
Gandhi Ji. The students coloured the picture of Gandhi Ji. They also learned a few key
principles of life such as Honesty and Truthfulness. It was an amazing celebration.
JKG students actively celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. We viewed a video on Gandhiji's life and
'Gandhiji's Three Monkeys'. Students enacted and stated the Three Monkeys wise quotes,
"See No Evil, Hear no Evil and Speak No Evil".
We also did amazing art work, students painted the image of Mahatma Gandhi and
thoroughly enjoyed the activity.
SKG class enthusiastically celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. Our students were excited to learn
about Mahatama Gandhi's life story. We viewed a PPT on Gandhiji's life after which students
made Swach Bharat posters.
