Co Curricular Activities by Specialist Subject Teachers

At Beaumont, apart from the core subjects of Practical Life, Sensorial, Culture, Language and Mathematics, students are also provided an opportunity to explore activities related to the performing arts and sports. The training is imparted by Specialist subject teachers of Speech and Drama, Dance, Music and PE.

Speech and Drama: The Exploration Speech and Drama platform includes a host of drama activities and exercises that have been proven to help students enhance their listening, speaking, and movement skills. The Speech and Drama platform uses a variety of various medium to train students including, readers’ theatre, puppet play, finger rhymes, drama exercises, drama games, tongue twisters, poems, role play and skits relevant to the age groups.

Drama is a means of stimulating creativity in children, especially with regards to problem solving. Dramatic exploration can provide students with an outlet for emotion, thought, and dreams that they might not otherwise have means to express.

Dance : Brian’s Academy of Dance focuses on the dance styles of Action steps and Freestyle, which provide a platform to our young kids for exploration, improvisation and expression through movement.

Children develop their motor skills, as well as build on coordination, rhythm, team work and listening skills. Songs and games are used to help kids understand their moving body and to facilitate the learning of fundamental movement patterns.

Music: Anand Milind’s Academy of Music, encourages students to sing and also communicate musical ideas without words (because kids are very impressionable when it comes to the real vocal enunciation of emotion, which is very important to train their muscle memory creatively) Teachers also revisit songs that all the kids know and REWRITE them by celebrating the child's individual tastes and have them come up with very simple ideas which are easy for them to think, thus encouraging each child’s creativity.

PE: Sports Synthesis follows an age appropriate program specifically designed to teach and develop fundamental movement skills that are the basis of any sport.

We follow the ABCs of movement- Agility, Balance and Coordination.
The athletic ability, physical development and physical literacy of a child is based on the foundation of their ABCs.
The program mainly focuses on teaching and developing gross motor skills, fine motor skills, coordination and balance through fun and interactive games, using safe equipment and music as a tool to engage children.
Beaumont thus offers a very holistic program, to all our students from Toddler to Senior KG.

Emotional, Intellectual, Social………… So many worlds for our Children to explore!
