August is the month of very many festivals, Navroz- the Parsi New Year is also celebrated during this month. Nav means new and roz means day, so it’s a New Day, the first day of the New Year that is celebrated.
Our learners at Beaumont had the opportunity to explore the way Navroz is celebrated. They viewed videos and PPTs which enhanced their inquiry about the customs related to this festival. Prophet Zarathushtra, tenets, places of worship, symbols, clothes, food and other aspects of the Parsi Zoroastrian culture were focused on. Children participated enthusiastically and the sessions came to an end by greetings extended to all.
Sal Mubarak! Navroz Mubarak!
