Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand Celebrations


Students of Beaumont enthusiastically celebrated Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand. We discussed the significance of these 2 festivals and how they are celebrated. Students too provided their input.

JKG class celebrated Gudi Padwa and Chetti Chand by discussing the celebration practices and the sweets eaten during the festivals. Students also mentioned about the rangolis made during the festivals. We also saw a video on the celebration of Gudi Padwa and students did Mandala painting in Art. We wished everyone "Happy Gudi Padwa and Chetti Chand nu lakh lakh badhaiyan."
Senior KG students drew colourful Gudis . All the students viewed videos as well.

Gudi Padwa is a spring-time festival that marks the traditional new year and is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month of the Hindu calendar. It is the first day of the year for the people of Maharashtra and Konkan region.

Cheti Chand or Jhulelal Jayanti is an important festival celebrated by the Sindhi Community. Sindhis celebrate their New Year along with the birth anniversary of Lord Jhulelal on this day. Community members, celebrate the day by getting together and making feasts and expressing thankfulness and gratitude to Lord Jhulelal.
